Wedding Identity - Creative Graphic Design
Your wedding day is one of the most important of your life. You know that, but when it comes to choosing products and devices to publicise your special day many off-the-peg commercial offerings can disappoint visually.
Projecting an image that is consistent and meaningful is what most couples are looking for, yet buying all the necessary components to communicate your plans from different sources can leave you feeling let down in an inperceptible way.
The Brief: I was asked to come up with stationery designs that would fit with a theme of red and gold. I talked with the bride and we decided on two things: Red will be Pantone 200 and Gold will be Pantone 872. With that, I set about designing the first piece of stationery, the Save the Date Card. Later the groom contacted me to suggest that we included a Fridge Magnet with the card so that invitees could be reminded of the date every time they opened their fridge. What a great idea!

A7 Fridge Magnet
The couple wanted their stationery to have a contemporary feel, and after showing them 2 or 3 ideas, they decided to go with a kind of digital-flower concept.

A6 Save the Date Reply Card (front)
The bride told me that her ring was to be made of platinum and I know the groom is a scientist, so I combined the idea of platinum with a scientific execution and used an atomic diagram of the element as a common motif throughout the stationery.

A6 Save the Date Reply Card (reverse)
The couple were keen to keep the tone of the Save the Date replys informal so that invitees would not feel as though they had to commit just yet.

This project is still developing and more items will be added to this portfolio. I've just added the Invitations (November 06), but there's still more stuff to come.
